Why the FAR part 8 deviation matters

The FAR 8.104 Deviation enacted 8-15-2025 positions Traka as the primary GSA option for electronic key management and asset locker solutions when salient characteristics are met.

Agencies benefit from a simplified, compliant process using SAPs, accelerating procurement and fully meeting competition requirements under the GSA Contract.

Sections 8.104 and 8.105 clarify that agencies and ordering activities must fulfill needs through government supply sources like GSA, if available.

When a product meets an agency's needs, and is available on Best-In-Class SINs, purchasing through those GSA Contracts is now required. Traka's electronic key management cabinets and asset management lockers exist on these SINs under GSA Contract Number 47QTCA24D0095.
