As our SENIOR MAINTENANCE TECHNCIAN you’ll support HID’s success by: 

 

 

The maintenance technician is responsible for plastic injection molding operations and drive 6S implementation. Will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and automated systems to ensure continuous and efficient production operations. The role requires collaboration with other departments in injection molding. Secondary tasks include quick troubleshooting, preventive maintenance for the machines & auxiliary and other assigned responsibilities. It is expected to be the driving force with a systematic approach to develop IM Manufacturing to world class standards.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on injection molding machines & auxiliary.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in molding machines and related equipment.
  • Ensure machines and tools meet safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain heaters, thermocouples, and robotic interfaces.
  • Document maintenance actions in logs or CMMS.
  • Spare parts management.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for machine uptime and efficiency.
  • Work with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot machines when required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Respond to equipment downtime promptly and efficiently & track down time, actions taken.
  • Lead maintenance team on daily activities and ensure and maintains the 6’s implementation.
  • Closely follow up on production schedule achieve low downtime and rejection rate.
  • Responsible for following up with vendors/supplier for when required, related to machine repairing, spare parts & other activities related to maintenance.
  • To take up new responsibilities as and when required to do so.           

 

Qualifications

  • Good understanding of plastics injection molding machines, auxiliary, robots, hopper dryers and other manufacturing equipment and processes. Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in Plastic Injection Molding.
  • Leadership - Lead maintenance team.
  • Familiar with lockout/tagout, OSHA safety standards.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
  • Experience with hot runner systems, chillers, dryers, and material feeders – an advantage.
  • Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking – Essential for troubleshooting and making process improvements – an advantage.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good in problem solving skills

 

Education and/or Experience         

  • Diploma/Vocational/Certificate in Technical academic or technically related field.
  • Certifications in industrial maintenance or related field.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and automation systems.

 

Language Skills                   

  • Excellent communication skills in English verbally and in writing.
  • Able to communicate in Malay language.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure.

                       

Computer Skills     

  • Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc.
