What would you do as our Senior Product Engineer?
Working under the direction of the Engineering Manager, you’ll lead the successful execution of capital and engineering projects by coordinating scope, scheduling, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration.
You would also:
- Plan and develop project scopes with clear success criteria and ROI/savings justification
- Manage and track project budgets, timelines, and deliverables
- Facilitate weekly project reviews and provide technical documentation and reporting
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering and design efforts across departments
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, resolve, and escalate project-related issues
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and automation
- Support integration of automation/robotics, tooling, and process enhancements
- Engage with maintenance, production, tool room, and office teams as needed
- Apply concepts like takt time, cycle time, and flow to improve cost, quality, and delivery
- Demonstrate strong root cause analysis and problem-solving abilities
- Promote and maintain a safe, compliant, and collaborative work environment in alignment with ASSA ABLOY’s Code of Conduct and safety standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
The Skills and Experience you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required (Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering preferred)
- Minimum of 7 years of project engineering experience, including leadership of capital projects over $1M
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Pro-E, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
- Experience with PLC equipment and hardware; Allen Bradley programming preferred
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic automation systems
- Familiarity with database structures for shop floor data collection
- Background in press, stamping, MIG/spot welding, and CNC operations preferred
- Understanding of robotic safety circuits; OSHA 30-hour training is a plus
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience applying Lean principles in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Excellent time management and the ability to prioritize multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail
- Occasional overnight travel may be required
