Order Entry - McKinney
General Description: The Order Entry operator is responsible for performing data entry work using a personal computer and appropriate software; entering, updating, researching, verifying and/or retrieving data into/from various systems; and ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of information recorded. The Order Entry operator will develop and maintain a solid product knowledge and negotiate pricing and delivery requirements that meet the customer’s expectations and production capabilities. This is an onsite in office position.
Responsibilities:
- Enter, update and verify data into various systems for use by all personnel
- Review and verify data entered into database to ensure accuracy
- Verifies and logs the receipt of data and obtains any data that is missing
- Resolves minor processing problems; seek assistance from supervisor or other appropriate staff for issues beyond immediate expertise
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information
- Assist in answering Customer Service phone calls
- Answering customer questions
- Expediting customer orders
- Negotiating ship dates
- Tracking shipments
- Solving customer issues
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Excellent and precise data entry and typing skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Strong work ethic and efficient at tasks
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Consistent attendance a must
