We are looking for a dynamic HR executive who can help lead that continued growth. As Vice President of Human Resources, you will balance strategic vision with hands-on leadership to support our workforce across 20+ facilities throughout the U.S. Canada, and Mexico. This position reports directly to the President of the Door Group and will partner closely with leaders across our Commercial Segment.

What you will be doing as our Vice President of Human Resources?

You’ll lead a team of HR professionals and collaborate cross-functionally to align HR initiatives with business goals. This includes workforce strategy, succession planning, organizational development, labor and employee relations, compensation and benefits, and compliance. You’ll also continue shaping our culture through engagement and leadership development, while ensuring scalable and consistent HR operations that support the needs of our workforce, as well as fostering a strong connection between members of the HR community.

 

You will also:

  • Partner with the subgroup President, segment VP of Human Resources and the subgroup leadership team to devise strategies for group HR initiatives, talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management and people development.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team on organizational design, talent strategy, and workforce planning across 20+ locations in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a geographically dispersed HR team, ensuring consistent, business-aligned practices and reinforcing a culture of accountability and engagement while fostering a culture of accountability and engagement
  • Oversee all aspects of labor relations, including contract negotiations, grievance handling, and proactive union avoidance strategies, while maintaining strong relationships with operational and legal partners
  • Drive a people-first approach to both employee and candidate experience, ensuring engagement, retention, and employer brand alignment
  • Own the full talent management lifecycle, including succession planning, career development, performance enablement, and high-potential identification to build a sustainable, future-ready workforce
  • Lead the development and execution of compensation and benefits strategies, including market benchmarking and compliance with local regulations
  • Partner with Safety and EHS leadership to reinforce a proactive safety culture, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and site-level practices
  • Oversee the optimization of HR technology systems to drive process efficiency, reporting, and scalability
  • Collaborate with Finance and Operations on workforce budgeting, headcount planning, and organizational health metrics
  • Champion DEI, performance management, and leadership development strategies to strengthen talent pipelines across all functions
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, and uphold the values outlined in the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
  • Additional responsibilities/project as required 

 

The Skills and Experience You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP) preferred
  • 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role managing multi-site manufacturing or distribution environments
  • Proven track record in labor relations, including contract negotiations and developing union-avoidance strategies through positive employee relations
  • Skilled in employee relations, organizational design, change management, compensation and benefits, labor laws, and safety programs
  • Comfortable navigating HRIS systems. Previous experience or knowledge of SAP Success Factor, Ev5, and ADP would be plus
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and executive presence with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
  • Experience with M&A, integrations, or organizational restructuring is a plus
  • Fluency in English; Spanish proficiency preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 40%, including international trips.
