Senior Accountant
Amarr – a part of ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in opening solutions - is hiring a Senior Accountant to work with our finance team in our Winston-Salem, NC corporate office. This position is responsible for assisting in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and for providing accurate financial reports to management. The ideal candidate will have experience working with large data sets, doesn’t mind working with short deadlines (such as a quick month-end reporting time-frame), and enjoys working across departments to achieve both short and long term goals.
Essential Functions:
- Assist the Accounting Manager with the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, including:
- Month-end close process including preparing, reviewing and directing (as appropriate) month-end close tasks, journal entries and reconciliations helping to ensure that all deadlines are met with materially correct results.
- Consolidation of domestic and foreign subsidiaries and eliminating journal entries.
- Preparation of internal reporting package.
- Preparation of corporate monthly, quarterly and annual reporting schedules and upload into Hyperion (HFM).
- Assist in preparation of rolling forecasts/budget.
- Development, documentation and continuous improvement of processes as appropriate.
- Assist in administration of general ledger business unit and account set up.
- Perform research on accounting issues.
Qualifications of Job:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA license preferred.
- Public accounting experience preferred but not required.
- Minimum of three years of experience in accounting.
- Strong MS Excel skills.
- Experience with accounting software (ex: Oracle, JDEdwards, Hyperion, etc) preferred.
- Understanding of balance sheet analysis.
- Strong fundamental accounting skills, organizational ability, problem solving skills and reasoning ability.
- Experience in general accounting, consolidations, financial reporting, and general ledger administration.
