About the role

We currently have an opportunity for a motivated Maintenance and Facilities Coordinator to join our Melbourne based team.

Reporting to the Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor this role will be responsible for the coordination and improvement of our machinery, equipment, infrastructure, and facilities in our Melbourne based offices, factories, and warehouses. You will work within a team of tradespeople, technicians and administrators to ensure an effective preventative maintenance program is in place, facilities are supported and improved, and service requests are prioritised and actioned according to the impact on the business.

 

 You will be:

  • Coordinating and assisting with the setting priorities based on changing business requirements.
  • Ensuring regularly scheduled preventative maintenance, monthly safety checks are complete, identified actions are undertaken and correctly documented in the maintenance database.
  • Coordinating contractors, e.g. repair technicians, cleaning and security to coordinate activities under their scope of works.
  • Assisting with the preparation of cost estimates, applications for capital works and overseeing project management of capital installations.
  • Ensuring site facilities requests are tracked and completed, and escalating issues to the department supervisor.
  • Identifying critical machine spares of existing machinery and developing parts plans to minimise downtime.
  • Facilitating the request and creation of purchase requisitions and purchase orders
  • Working closely with the purchasing and administration team members to ensure documentation is captured for storage in databases.
  • Engaging in completing all site audits including internal audits and implement any identified corrective actions in a timely manner.

As an integral part of the team within a wider business, you will be a clear communicator and an effective team player that can manage and prioritise multiple projects. While there are technical elements to this role that you will need proven experience in, it’s not all that we’re looking for. We want people who:

  • Are experienced in managing a maintenance team in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understand hazard/risk management principles and relevant legislation.
  • Have a trade background or relevant comparable experience.
