What you would do as our AP Accountant

The AP Accountant is responsible for the accounts payable process within the Shared Services

Center. This includes the verification of incoming invoices, ensuring accurate coding, preparing payment proposals, and maintaining the AP ledger for 2 Austrian and associated entities. The role is also involved in supporting  and coding VAT , resolving payment discrepancies, and ensuring that all AP activities are aligned with company policies and local regulations.

You would also:

  • Verify and code incoming supplier invoices to ensure they are correctly matched with purchase orders (PO) and goods receipts (GR), be responsible for Non-PO invoice processing and ensure VAT codes are correctly applied according to local regulations and company policy.
  • Prepare and process payment runs for both domestic and foreign currency payments, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors and address and resolve any invoice discrepancies or payment issues, liaising with internal teams and vendors as needed.
  • Maintain and update vendor master data, ensuring accuracy of supplier details such as payment terms, bank accounts, and contact information and assist with the preparation of accruals and ensure timely and accurate closing of the AP subledger during month-end reporting.
  • Process Travel & Expense (T&E) claims, ensuring they comply with company policies and applicable tax laws and support reconciliation of intercompany accounts, ensuring that all transactions between related entities are accurately recorded and reconciled.
  • Assist with internal audits, external audits, and regulatory reporting requirements related to accounts payable.

The skills and experience you need

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and has at least 3 - 4 years of experience in an accounts payable role or similar, preferably in a shared services environment.
  • Has experience with ERP systems (AX2012, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, knowledge of VAT regulations and tax compliance is a plus.
  • Is fluent in English (German is a plus).
  • Has strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve them in a timely manner and has strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Has excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
