Custodial / Maintenance

Rockwood Manufacturing is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to support the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the building and surrounding property. This position is responsible for performing routine cleaning, sanitation, and light maintenance duties to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for employees and visitors. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, follows safety standards, and is flexible to assist at multiple locations as needed.

 Essential Functions:

  • Performs general cleaning and janitorial duties in the common areas of the building.
  • Performs cleaning and sanitizing of restrooms and break rooms. 
  • Restock restroom facilities.
  • Performs limited grounds maintenance such as cleaning snow from sidewalks.      
  • Maintains a neat and orderly janitors’ room; ensures cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.
  • Gather and empty trash.
  • Collect and dispose of cardboard throughout facility.
  • Washes windows.
  • Keeps building and property in clean and orderly condition. 
  • Assists in examining facility for safety hazards; reports deficiencies to appropriate personnel.
  • Occasional trips to Rockwood North facility.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
  • Detail-oriented and thorough.
  • Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance.
  • Ability to keep the facility clean and orderly.
  • Ability to interact with fellow employees while remaining polite and courteous.
  • Ability to operate a fork truck.
  • Clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing.
  • Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
