Machinist

We are seeking a motivated Machinist to join our team at our Somerset, PA facility. In this role you will operate various machining equipment including Gantry mills, Haas mills, and lathes to support daily production needs. This position involves loading and unloading parts, maintaining high quality standards, and completing required production documentation. This role offers a great opportunity for individuals interested in expanding their machining knowledge. Training and guidance will be provided by experienced team members, but applicants should be comfortable working independently, taking direction, and seeking assistance when needed.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate mills and lathes to support production runs
  • Uphold high standards of quality and professionalism.
  • Properly pack all daily ran products
  • Packing an order for shipment which includes palletizing, boxing, wrapping
  • Boxing, marking and placing products in correct location on the shelves
  • Accurately complete daily production paperwork
  • Run sheets and time sheets
  • Scrap Analysis and weights
  • Keep up to date on training and knowledge of products
  • Constantly work to improve speed of set up and break downs
  • Assist with material needs and shipping expectations

Additional Duties:

  • Maintain the proper upkeep on all tools, equipment, and workstations
  • Great 6S skills a must
  • Support other departments as needed

 

Minimum Experience: (Candidate must have a basic understanding of these systems)

  • Understanding of machine safety, guarding and lockout/tagout procedures
  • Focus on quality and attention to detail.
  • Mechanical aptitude, prior experience or training
  • Print/schematic reading skills or eager to learn
  • Previous experience required
