Automation & Project Technician
1st Shift
Base Hourly Rate: $35 - $40
Job Summary
Maintain and enhance automated systems and equipment. Work closely with site engineering team on design, development, and implementation of systems and processes to improve efficiency and site productivity.
Individual needs to be highly motivated and able to govern themselves. Expert background in solving difficult problems a must.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot automated machinery and systems.
- Utilize all resources necessary to reduce equipment downtime-vendors, tech support, manuals, etc.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize automation processes through continuous improvement through ideas and implementation.
- Document all maintenance activities and system modifications.
- Provide technical support and training to team members as needed.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in automation technology.
- Use and utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Software).
Education and Experience Profile
Technical trade school certificate or degree.
Required Skills
- Equipment Maintenance — Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Troubleshooting — Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
- Equipment Selection — Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
- Monitoring — Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
- Operation Monitoring — Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- Quality Control Analysis — Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
- Experience- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Industrial Maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge- Machine Control (PLC, Sensors, IO’s, software) and ability to read and understand machine blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Safety Minded - Take an active part in maintaining a safe workplace for themselves and co-workers, both in abiding by all rules and regulations set forth by the company and in suggesting ways to improve the workplace.
- Communication- Good verbal and written skills, computer literacy. Excellent organizational skills and follow-up skills.
