Position Summary:
ASSA ABLOY India is seeking a Category Manager to lead the Smart Residential segment. This role will be accountable for driving growth, profitability, and market share across multiple channels, with a strong focus on innovation, customer experience, and long-term business sustainability. You will shape category strategy, oversee execution, and ensure exceptional business outcomes in alignment with our mission of creating secure and seamless living experiences.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute business strategy for Smart Residential products across Retail, Projects, Home Automation, and E-commerce channels.
- Ensure fair pricing, margin optimization, and achievement of top-line and gross margin targets.
- Drive category growth plans for India and SAARC markets.
- Plan and implement new product launches and market development initiatives.
- Monitor and improve demand generation productivity through structured reviews.
- Build and maintain relationships with channel partners, architects, and HA integrators.
- Ensure world-class in-store demonstrations and customer experiences.
- Oversee marketing collateral to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Leverage digital marketing and e-commerce platforms to strengthen brand presence.
- Conduct market analysis and track competitor activities for proactive decision-making.
- Mentor, develop, and set clear performance expectations for team members.
- Build internal and channel partner capabilities aligned with business goals.
- Ensure effective installation and complaint resolution through the customer call center.
- Enforce zero tolerance for improper installations and unresolved complaints.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong sales and operational management experience with proven P&L accountability.
- Ability to manage and drive performance for sales managers while proactively addressing challenges.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and people development capabilities.
- Solid analytical, budgeting, and financial forecasting skills.
- In-depth understanding of digital marketing, e-commerce, and technology trends in home automation.
- Customer-centric mindset with problem-solving ability and strategic thinking.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor in Engineering ( Electronics / IT ) .MBA preferred Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience in Business Development / Product management in Smart Products category
