Jr. IT Business Analyst

Position Summary:

The primary role of the Jr. IT Business Analyst is to ensure that business processes and supporting systems continue to meet business project stakeholder needs. This position is a vital part of ensuring operations continues to produce without interruption.  This person is a hands-on worker who will drive the creation of process models (primarily conceptual/logical level models, often using business process analysis [BPA] tools) and work with others to provide the supporting process ecosystem and implementations (including screen interactions, dashboards, rule management and optimization algorithms). This position deals with the more tactical, day-to-day aspects of discovering, validating, documenting and communicating business-process-related knowledge through modeling, simulating and analyzing current and future states.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Defines and documents business functions and processes.
  • Identifies opportunities for improving business processes through information systems and/or non-system driver changes; assists in the preparation of proposals to develop new systems and/or operational changes.
  • Serves as a liaison between non-technical stakeholders and technical teams for any issues that arise as well as any process change requests.
  • Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements.
  • Performing user acceptance testing.

 

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation, spreadsheet, flow charting, and word processing applications skills
  • Previous experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems (JD Edwards is preferred)
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing plant applying business analysis to manufacturing process.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL and Power BI is preferred. 
  • Must have strong time management and organizational skills
  • Position requires exceptional problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Troubleshoot day to day system responses and manage work queue of user requests.
  • Ticket Lifecycle Management – Monitor for aging tickets and push to resolution
  • Experience with project specification writing is desired.
