Ship/Stock/Rec Clerk
ASSA ABLOY Norton Rixson located on Highway 74 in Monroe, NC
Join Our Team as a Shipping Clerk – Where Accuracy Meets Action!
Are you ready to be at the heart of our shipping and receiving operations? As a Shipping Clerk, you’ll play a key role in making sure materials move safely, efficiently, and accurately from point A to point B — whether that’s the stockroom, production floor, or straight to our customers’ doors.
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has an eye for detail, and takes pride in keeping things moving smoothly and organized.
What You’ll Do
Receiving & Unloading
-
Safely and orderly unload trucks, ensuring they are securely checked to the dock.
-
Audit incoming materials for accuracy, verify counts, and mark packing lists accordingly.
-
Create manual packing lists if needed and tag all materials with the proper traveler.
-
Move materials from receiving to the stockroom, work-in-progress areas, or shipping for vendor returns.
-
Deliver non-productive materials to the department that placed the order.
Material Handling & Organization
-
Transfer materials from packing lines through tape machines, organizing them by item number or order type (“B” orders, warehouse stock, or overseas shipments).
-
Maintain the appearance and organization of inventories in both on-site and leased warehouses.
-
Ensure accurate placement and storage of cartons, masters, and consignment inventory.
-
Operate and maintain material handling equipment safely — including forklifts (Raymond stand-up and sit-down).
Shipping & Documentation
-
Load trucks in an organized manner to ensure accurate deliveries.
-
Prepare and manage shipping documents for UPS, truck, air, and container shipments (including bills of lading, UPS manifests, and air bills).
-
Verify the accuracy of materials loaded for shipment, updating records in the computer system for customer service and MRP tracking.
-
Ensure all shipped products have correct part numbers, quantities, and labeling.
Stockroom & Picking
-
Receive, verify, and store materials into the stockroom.
-
Pick materials from pick sheets, shop orders, or wireless devices — ensuring correct part numbers, quantities, and timely delivery to the required department.
-
Consolidate and transport completed picks efficiently and accurately.
Inventory Control
-
Conduct cycle counts as directed.
-
Maintain accuracy in all inventory records, including consignment stock.
-
Keep work areas and storage organized, clean, and safe.
What We’re Looking For
-
Current forklift license (or ability to train and obtain within 30 days).
-
Ability to enter data directly into the computer.
-
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
-
Commitment to plant safety regulations, company policies, and good housekeeping.
-
Willingness to perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.
