Austral Monsoon Building Products Pty Ltd (AMBP), part of the ASSA ABLOY group is a specialist contractor to the building industry designing, manufacturing and installing products generally for use on building perimeters. Our product range includes proprietary fixed and operable louvres and sun shade / screening systems. This role is based onsite in Carole Park, Qld.
About the Role
We are looking for a proven results focused Programmer, who will be critical to the production process and involves reading blueprints and understanding the product dimensions to properly program machines. The role is responsible for reading and interpreting design blueprints, programming, planning and operating the various machines, and adjusting and maintaining the machine and settings to achieve the required products and outputs.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Program various machines to perform required tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, stamping and bending etc.
- Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
- Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function as well as operate these machines.
- Resolve any discrepancies with project specific shop drawings with sales, engineering or customers to ensure that all products are fit for purpose and plan the flow of work for these machines
- Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large numbers of parts
- Monitor the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
- Create and implement routine maintenance checklists and perform basic troubleshooting when required
- Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
- Maintain a “Duty of Care” in relation to Workplace Health & Safety and Environment. Ensure that procedures are followed, guarding is in place and that any unsafe work practices are actioned and reported to Management
About You
You will be results oriented professional with a sense of responsibility and ownership. You will operate with a high level of structure, energy & autonomy and the ability to work in cross functional teams. To be successful in this role, you will have:

Proven experience as CNC operator in a manufacturing environment (ideally building industry products - wood and metal)

Demonstrated skills in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools

The ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings

Strong understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM

Mechanical aptitude and good analytical skills

The ability to multi-task and well-developed problem-solving skills

Strong oral and written communication skills

Attention to detail and accuracy

Good team player with integrity, interpersonal, organization and time management skills

Work well under pressure and able to work independently

Relevant Trade; certificate or diploma in engineering or equivariant
