We are looking for a motivated and technically minded Service Technician to join our Western Australia Field Service team and play a key role in supporting, maintaining, and installing SKIDATA systems across the state.

 

About the Role

As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and commissioning of SKIDATA equipment across Western Australia. You will provide exceptional technical support to customers while ensuring all systems operate efficiently and reliably.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys problem-solving, working independently in the field, and delivering high-quality customer service. 

 

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Commissioning

  • Install and commission SKIDATA equipment and systems.
  • Conduct testing and performance checks.
  • Identify and resolve installation issues.
  • Ensure all installations meet company and industry standards. 

 

Maintenance & Repairs

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance across customer sites.
  • Diagnose faults and undertake repairs efficiently.
  • Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain high levels of system reliability and customer satisfaction.

 

Field Service & Customer Support

  • Provide timely technical support and troubleshooting.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively regarding site issues, repairs, and recommendations. 

 

Administration & Compliance

  • Complete service reports and documentation accurately.
  • Maintain parts and inventory records.
  • Participate in the after-hours support roster.
  • Uphold workplace health, safety, and company standards at all times.

 

About You

You are a practical, customer-focused technician who enjoys working with technology and solving technical challenges.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 2–3 years' experience in a service, maintenance, or technical field role.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and administrative accuracy.
  • Well-organised with the ability to prioritise competing tasks. 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, or related technical qualification (or currently undertaking studies).
  • Advanced computer literacy and technical aptitude.
  • Experience working with automated equipment, access control, parking systems, or similar technologies is highly regarded.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to participate in an on-call after-hours roster.
  • Flexibility to undertake occasional night work.
  • Ability to travel interstate when required (approximately 40% travel).
