"Great environment and people, interesting and new work regularly, and good pay – what more could you need"

What first attracted you to work at Traka?
The opportunity to work in a role brand new to me, as well as with a company I had zero knowledge of prior to working at Traka. Key management is something that I had never thought about before, so it was interesting to learn about a market I had no awareness on. Taking the initiative to challenge myself and always be learning new things is the key reason that attracted me to work for Traka.
What do you like most about working at Traka?
It may be cliché – but the people. Being able to work alongside people you get on well with makes the work that much better.
Tell us about the best part of your role at Traka?
Working/speaking with new people. While the products we sell are somewhat the same each time, it is great to be able to work with different companies and speak with new people every day.
How would you rate your work-life balance?
Working a scheduled routine of hours is great, as it makes planning life outside of work a lot easier. Previous jobs I have had were shift based, which made this much harder to do so.
What motivates you to go above and beyond at work?
Primarily knowing the fact that my colleagues would do the same for me. Despite being at the company a short time compared to most of my colleagues, there have been a number of occasions where the help and support given to me has been beyond that of what I would normally expect from someone. This again is a great incentive for enjoying my work.
What's your most recent accomplishment at work?
Within a few weeks, it will be having completed my graduation secondment. Prior to this, winning best tasting cake in the charity bake off!
Do you believe we give authentic recognition in the workplace?
Recognition is given at Traka on a regular basis. I have never had the mind-set that recognition needs to be a grand gesture, a big prize etc. For me having people acknowledge and appreciate when I am working hard and doing a good job is enough. Colleagues are always appreciative when they receive help, and likewise my superiors are never shy to tell me when they think I am doing a good job.
Do you think that Traka offer adequate opportunities for promotions and career development?
From what I have seen, Traka is very keen and good at promoting within. New job opportunities are always made known to the team. I am a big fan of this, a company that supports and encourages its employees to work their way has the right idea.
How would you describe the culture at Traka?
My favourite thing about Traka culture is the environment in which you find yourself working in. Everybody at Traka works so incredibly hard, but there is a big sense of friendship with these people, not just that you are only there for work. There is a nice social aspect that comes with working at Traka, and colleagues are very genuine; people are actually interested in one another. Or whether it’s things like dress down days for charity, elf on the shelf as we did over Christmas – little things like that which make the culture an enjoyable environment to work in, and an enjoyable team to be a part of.
Would you recommend Traka as an employer?
As for all the reasons listed previously, Traka is a great employer. Great environment and people, interesting and new work regularly, and good pay – what more could you need.
