Traka Achieves Top Safety Accreditation

Traka, the leader in intelligent key cabinets and locker systems, has been awarded the Alcumus SafeContractor status for achieving excellence in health and safety in the workplace.

Alcumus SafeContractor is a leading third party accreditation scheme that recognises extremely rigorous standards in health and safety management amongst contractors. It is used by thousands of organisations in the UK including SMEs and FTSE 100 companies.

Says John Ruthven, Traka Quality & EHS Manager, “Adopting health and safety strategies is critical to every workplace today, and we offer the key and asset management tools to present total peace of mind.  But it’s only right we take our own practices as seriously and seek the highest accreditation.

“Alcumus SafeContractor is one of the fastest growing health and safety assessment scheme. To have passed such a rigorous assessment process shows our commitment to health and safety for the benefit of all our staff and proves to our customers, new and existing, that we do practice what we preach!”

An investigation of Traka’s health and safety standards was essential as, being such a high-profile company offering intelligent key and asset management solutions to sectors including education, emergency and transport, certain standards have to be met and checked.

Gemma Archibald, Director of Alcumus SafeContractor said, "Major organisations such as Traka simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies in place."

“We believe more companies need to follow by example in understanding the importance of adopting good risk management.  And here, SafeContractor can play a vital role in supporting meeting compliance needs, whilst working with their contractors as they progress through the accreditation process.”
