Touch Screen solutions enhance lockout process control for petrochemical industry

Today Traka released details of a new Touch Screen solution being developed for the Petro-Chemical industry to help manage effective process control through the use of lockout key management, when accessing oil pipelines.

Lockout process control is fundamental to ensure pipelines are locked-off before any maintenance work is carried out. The same is true for any number of similar engineering scenarios where potentially dangerous equipment could be in use and needs to be securely disarmed before servicing or repairs are undertaken.

Single or Dual user authorisation levels are incorporated as a standard feature to ensure appropriate authority permissions are given before access to or closure of facilities. Multiple cabinets across remote sites can, if necessary, be linked together for easy management from a single central point of control. User access can be managed by PIN code; by integrating with existing access control systems; or by Biometric fingerprint recognition in higher security situations.

Trade & Investment comments on Traka�s Queens�s Award success

The award to Traka plc of The Queen's Award for Enterprise - International Trade 2008 was based on an increase in international sales that now sees 50% of its annual income derived from overseas business. John Kent goes on to say... �with a worldwide market this percentage could be even higher. The support from UKTI, and especially International Trade Advisor Fiona Jefferson, has been particularly useful in helping establish new markets and in the advice on different aspects of export activity, from marketing to legal.�

Queen�s Awards: Celebratory Reception with HRH, The Duke of Gloucester

Valerie Lindsay (Commercial Manager) pictured with the Queen�s Award for Enterprise, attends a Celebratory Reception held for winners and recipients at The Gladstone Library in the presence of His Royal Highness, The Duke of Gloucester. With over 150 attendee�s present, celebrating winning awards in different categories, Val was well placed to listen to keynote addresses from David Moore, Secretary to the Prime Minister�s Advisory Committee, Professor John Irven, and HRH The Duke of Gloucester.

Traka win the Queens Award for the second time

At long last the secret is out � Traka have won a second Queens Award for Enterprise. The first time in 2004 for Innovation and now in 2008 for International Trade.

The Awards are made each year by The Queen, on the advice of the Prime Minister, who is assisted by an advisory committee that includes representatives of Government, industry and commerce, and the trade unions. It is a very special privilege to win the Queens Award for Enterprise, this year just 85 companies being selected for International Trade out of a total of 139. So Traka can justifiably place themselves in the very top percentage of UK businesses that are recognised for their export achievements.

Traka's Managing Director, John Kent said the company�s 39 employees were enormously proud of their achievement. He added: �I�m absolutely delighted that our continued efforts have been recognised and rewarded � this is a wonderful achievement and reflects more than 12 years' investment in technical innovation, customer understanding and international sales development.�
